Mingle2 Reviews
Set up in 2008, Mingle2 is free and (according to the people who run it) always will be. They claim to be one of the biggest dating sites on earth.
Finding a match with a large pool of eager singles is quick and easy. In addition, the membership base is constantly growing, so it’s a dating site to watch.
Is Mingle2 Worth It? Our recommendation upfront
Unfortunately, while it’s excellent that messaging and other features are free, Mingle2 doesn’t feel particularly inviting because the website is old and updated, and there are far too many ads.
The busy design makes it hard to know what you’re clicking on as you often get off the Mingle2 to other websites, which gets pretty frustrating after a while.
Our other most significant gripe is that it seems complicated to find a meaningful connection. You get so many messages flying into your inbox (this happened with us without a profile picture and information filled out), so it feels like other members are trying their luck.
If you want to find something more severe and long-lasting, we suggest checking out some other free sites or giving one that requires a membership a go. 2.7 / 5.

✓ Pros of Mingle2
- Messaging is free for all members, which is rare in online dating.
- Many members use the site, leaving you plenty of choices.
X Cons of Mingle2
- You’ll have to put up with lots of ads across the site.
- The website is very outdated.
- Even without a profile photo or detailed information, we got a lot of messages. While this might not seem like a downside, it makes you wonder what some members’ intentions are if they don’t know who they’re talking to.
Mingle2 member structure

How does Mingle2.com work?
Whether you’re looking for a serious relationship or a casual hook-up, Mingle2 is about browsing profiles you like the look of for yourself.

Sign up process
How can you join Mingle2.com? Signing up is quick. It only takes about a minute to sign up. Mingle2 doesn’t ask for a lot of personal information. Instead, create a basic profile, add a profile picture (or skip and do this later), and verify your profile. Afterward, you can go back in and answer questions about your appearance, marital status, and whether you want children (amongst others).

Ease of use
There’s nothing extraordinary about the website. It’s a bit clunky and uninspiring, but it does the job. Unfortunately, you’ll find many ads while browsing, so you have to navigate through those as you look for profiles. However, mingle2 utilizes handy tabs that keep all the features in one place, which helps with the site’s usability.
Chat, messages, and notifications
As already mentioned, messaging all members is completely free. You can also send nudges, kisses, winks, hugs, or kicks in the butt instead of a message to try and break the ice. There are contact limits in place, however. After 30 days, messages automatically get deleted to stop spam. Upgrading to MingePlus removes this limit.
Profile Quality
When looking through profiles, you’ll find a lot of them aren’t very detailed because sign-up is quite basic, and you have to make an effort to go through and update all the extra details.
A lot of members do add pictures, though. The silver lining about the lack of detail is that you’re less likely to pre-judge based on members’ information.
Mingle2 mobile app
The Mingle2 app is available to download on iOS and Android, giving unlimited access to all features to find someone nearby. In addition, the interface is much easier to use than the desktop site, so it’s a tremendous dating-on-the-go tool for instant messaging.
Real-life reviews for Mingle2.com
[su_quote]
Mingle2 was easy to navigate, and it was easy to text other singles. The advanced search option was incredibly convenient, as I could find matches not just in the exact location but with the same interests as me. There was a bit of a challenge in messaging other singles as many of them never replied, even though I wanted to meet them. The accounts seemed to be inactive. I also found a few profiles that had photos of celebrities in use.

Key features
There aren’t many extra features to shout about, except Mutual Match, a feature that many other dating websites use, where you can choose yes, no, or maybe on random profiles that they recommend to you.
If you choose yes, they will notify the other person and reveal your identity if they say yes too.
Is Mingle2 safe?
The Mingle2 team strictly monitors the site to ensure a safe and secure environment. You can also easily block people you don’t want to talk to.
How much does Mingle2.com cost?
What are the prices for membership? While Mingle2 is a free dating site, you can upgrade for a small fee to unlock a few additional features that will hopefully increase your chances of meeting someone.
- Three months: $9.95 per month
- Six months: $7.95 per month
- 12 months: $5.95
You also unlock the following with a Mingle2 membership:
- See who likes you on Mutual Match.
- Browse profiles invisibly.
- Get seen in searches first.
- Find out if someone’s read your message.

Discounts, offers, and promo codes
We couldn’t find any discounts available, most likely because upgrading to a premium membership is optional and only unlocks a few ‘luxury’ features.
You can sometimes find money off passes if you do a Google search, so make sure you shop around before committing.
Free trials
The site is free, so no free trial is needed!

FAQ
How to join Mingle2?
You can register on the welcome page of the website.
How can I download Mingle2?
For the desktop, the website is available. In addition, the mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play for smartphones.
How can I change my password on Mingle2?
To change your password, select the Settings link near the top of your homepage and then the ‘Change Password’ link on the next page.
Once there, you can enter your current password in the top field. Then, enter your new password in the following two fields and click the ‘Change Password’ button.
How can I change my username?
Once you have created an account, changing your username is impossible. To get a new username, you need to register again. Mingle2 only allows one account per email address. You’ll need to use another email address to create a new account. Deactivate your old account for those who try this route and register again.
What is stealth mode?
Stealth mode allows you to browse the site without giving away your online status. For example, if you have stealth toggled on, other users will be unable to see that you have viewed them. Also, other members will not see ‘Online Now’ in your profile.
You can toggle this option on the Account Settings page at any time. To access this page, select the ‘My Account’ tab and then the ‘Settings’ link at the top.
How to contact Mingle2?
If you want to contact Mingle2, contact them at [email protected] or their Contact page. In addition, you can check the Frequently Asked Questions page and the Help Forum for support if they don’t respond quickly.
What should I do if I suspect another Mingle2 user is a scammer?
You can report this member by using their ‘Report Abuse’ system. Mingle2 will investigate the account, and if they need to, they will ban it. Additionally, you can report members by clicking the ‘Report This User’ link on their profile or the Report Abuse/Spam link near the bottom of any mail they have sent.
How do I know if a member is a scammer?
Mingle2 does its best to keep scammers off the site. Unfortunately, it is impossible to keep all scammers away, and social media sites are where members ask other members for money. This is considered a scam if cash is exchanged and the requesting party disappears.
In other instances, a member will ask for financial assistance. It’s best never to send money to another user and never pay for another individual.
How can I block another member on Mingle2?
There are a few ways to block other members. One way is to block the mail you receive from that person. You will find a ‘Block User’ link at the bottom of the message.
You can also block another person from an open IM window of the person. You will see a button of a circle with a line through it (the ‘no’ symbol) found on the upper right of the IM window, which says ‘block’ when you mouse over it.
How can I deactivate Mingle2?
If you’re a desktop user, go to your profile and select ‘Your Account,’ then ‘Settings,’ and finally, ‘Deactivate Account – Remove Profile.’
If you are an app user, go to the Menu found on the bottom right of your screen and select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Deactivate your Account’ found at the bottom of the list.
How can I unsubscribe from Mingle2 emails?
For desktop users, head to your profile, select ‘Your Account,’ and then ‘Settings.’ Next, click ‘Mail Settings’ and uncheck the emails you want to unsubscribe.
For mobile app users, click Menu on the bottom right of your screen. Then click ‘Settings’ and then ‘Email Address.’ Then uncheck the emails you want to unsubscribe.
